"MICROCOPY (Element012, XYZ & The Icosaeon) delivers a dark and intense work. Originally conceived for an exhibition, the six tracks are now publicly available for the first time. Like the exhibition itself, the music reflects the narrative of a so-called free world that is devouring itself, becoming more and more of what it never intended to be.
Post-democratic autocracies are spreading like a virus, exploiting the mechanisms of democracy to dismantle a liberal, open society. Fear has become the primary tool to keep people from engaging in a solidarity-driven dialogue, paving the way for the interests of an ultra-neoliberal, purely growth-driven world.
All of this resonates in United States of Autocracy, the first part of MICROCOPY’s new series, The Beginning. If we follow this trajectory, it leads to a bleak outlook. But the future is still in our hands—so long as we believe in what is good and remember that we are all sitting together on this tiny island in the vastness of space."
