MULTIINSEL: ALOHA NOISE
On June 21, 2025, the summer solstice and closing day of the Wiener Festwochen, the project MULTIINSEL: ALOHA DISCO INSEL was expanded into a new auditory dimension within Metatektur’s temporary studio at the ORF Funkhaus.
At the core of this expansion was the artist Macello Basstrojani (also known as Christoph Fellner), whose precisely composed and sensitively site-specific sound interventions redefined the perception of the space. His sound collages oscillated between fragmentary, distant melodies, deep basses, and sharp, clinking textures. Embedded within a layered arrangement of transitions, quiet moments, and eruptive bursts, his sounds transformed the space into an immersive sonic landscape.
MULTIINSEL itself is understood as an anthropotechnic practice that displaces everyday objects from their familiar context, creating new atmospheric realities through deliberate spatial reconfiguration. With Basstrojani’s auditory expansion, the space was augmented by an artificially generated acoustic membrane that overlaid the constant background noise, creating a new, multidimensional layer.
The live recording of this performance presented here is more than a mere document—it is an artistic artifact, an echo of an evening where space, object, and sound entered into a fleeting, multifaceted relationship.
